So you’ve made it to the contact us page. That usually means you’ve got a question, an idea, or maybe a complaint about something we wrote. Whatever it is, go ahead and send it over. Homey Exterior started as a small project to help homeowners figure out siding, roofing, windows, and all the other stuff that goes into the outside of a house, and it’s grown mostly because people kept emailing us. Readers, contractors, other bloggers, the occasional angry commenter, you name it.
How To Reach
No contact us form, no chatbot, no “submit a ticket.” Just Email at: georgeplunkit@gmail.com and someone actually reads it. Doesn’t need to be formal. If you write three lines and half of it is a typo, that’s fine, we’ll figure out what you meant.
Why People Usually Write In
A few of the more common reasons, in no particular order:
- A guest post pitch
- A question about a specific project, siding vs. vinyl, roof life span, that kind of thing
- Pointing out something wrong or outdated in an article (this happens more than you’d think, and we appreciate it)
- A business or contractor wanting to work together
- Someone from a brand asking about sponsored content
- Just saying hi, honestly
All of it lands in the same inbox and gets read.
If You Want to Write for Us
We take guest posts. Not every pitch gets a yes, but we read all of them. What tends to work: you actually know the topic, the writing sounds like a person wrote it and not a keyword strategy, and it fits somewhere near home exteriors, not a stretch to make it fit. Send a rough idea or even just a subject line you’re thinking about and we’ll tell you if it’s a fit before you write the whole thing.
Working Together
If you’re a contractor, supplier, or brand and think there’s a reason to team up, sponsored posts, a partnership, whatever, email us and lay it out plainly. Tell us who you are and what you’re actually proposing. We get a fair number of copy-paste pitches that could’ve been sent to any home improvement site on the internet, and those are easy to spot and easy to ignore. A specific pitch gets a specific answer.
Business Stuff
For advertising or media inquiries, same email. Helps if you include who you’re with, what you’re asking for, and a link or two so we’re not going back and forth just to figure out the basics.
Found a Mistake or Have Feedback?
Tell us. A wrong number, a broken link, a section that just doesn’t make sense, whatever it is. We’d rather fix it than have it sit there. Even a one-line email helps.
One Thing to Note
We answer real messages. Mass pitches that are obviously sent to a hundred other sites at once tend to get skipped, not out of rudeness; there’s just genuinely too many of them to reply to individually. If you write like a person, we’ll respond like one.
